{ENG}Officially born in 1933 on the Rutor glacier, on the side of La Thuile, was later definitively located in the heart of Valgrisenche. After several years of stop, the Tour du Rutor was reborn in 1995 by the will of the Corrado Gex ski club in Arvier and some young mountaineering enthusiasts.

The last edition of 2018 saw the participation of 704 competitors from 18 different countries, of which 300 male teams, 22 women's and 30 youth teams. "In 2020 the edition will be the twentieth - says the technical director Marco Camandona - and will include four days of competition with 9500m of elevation gain, 105 km of off-piste, 60 km of ascent, 45 km of descent, 6 km of aerial crests all in total safety. Furthermore, during each stage the athletes will climb over 3000 meters of altitude".

The Millet Tour du Rutor Extrême is part of La Grande Course, the circuit of the most beautiful and prestigious races in the Alps and Pyrenees. Circuit in which Pierra Menta, Mezzalama Trophy, Patrouille des Glaciers, Adamello Ski raid and Altitoy Ternua (which takes place in the Pyrenees) stand out. Today, just like 84 years ago, for lovers of skis and skins, fresh snow and aerial ridges, the Valgrisenche Valley race is not to be missed.

{ITA}Nato ufficialmente nel 1933 sul ghiacciaio del Rutor, versante di La Thuile, ha poi trovato la sua definitiva collocazione nel cuore della Valgrisenche. Dopo diversi anni di stop, il Tour du Rutor rinasce nel 1995 per volontà dello sci club Corrado Gex di Arvier e di alcuni giovani appassionati di alpinismo.

L’ultima edizione del 2018 ha visto la partecipazione di 704 concorrenti da 18 differenti nazioni, di cui 300 équipe maschili, 22 femminili e 30 squadre giovanili. “Nel 2020 l’edizione sarà la ventesima – afferma il direttore tecnico Marco Camandona – e prevederà quattro giorni di gara con 9500m di dislivello positivo, 105 km di fuoripista, 60 km di salita, 45 km di discesa, 6 km di creste aeree il tutto in totale sicurezza. Inoltre durante ogni tappa gli atleti saliranno oltre i 3000 metri di quota”.

Il Millet Tour du Rutor Extrême fa parte de La Grande Course, il circuito delle gare più belle e prestigiose dell’arco alpino e dei Pirenei. Circuito nel quale spiccano Pierra Menta, Trofeo Mezzalama, Patrouille des Glaciers, Adamello Ski raid e Altitoy Ternua (che si svolge nei Pirenei). Oggi come 84 anni fa, per gli amanti di sci e pelli di foca, neve fresca e creste aeree, quella valdostana è una gara assolutamente da non perdere.

{ENG}The Tour du Rutor, given the extreme technicality of the route, is not a race for everyone. The severity of its paths, the emotions that its athletes experience, the maniacal attention with which the organization takes care of every single detail, have contributed to making it legendary. For the show that the stages can offer, for the very high level of the athletes competing and for the prizes that the organizing committee up for grabs in the dedicated supporter areas, the Tour du Rutor deserves not only to be run, but also followed.

{ITA}Il Tour du Rutor, vista l’estrema tecnicità del percorso, non è una gara per tutti. La severità dei suoi percorsi, le emozioni che sa regalare, la maniacale attenzione con la quale l’organizzazione cura ogni singolo dettaglio, hanno contribuito a renderlo mitico. Per lo spettacolo che le tappe sanno regalare, per l’altissimo livello degli atleti in gara e per i premi che il comitato organizzatore mette in palio nelle apposite aree supporter, il Tour du Rutor merita non solo di essere corso, ma anche seguito.
