After five months of work, mostly spent during a global pandemic, we have finally completed the editing and post-production of Nicolò Bongiorno's new documentary.
"Songs Of The Water Spirits" represented a double challenge for me, first of all because Nicolò had shot an enormous amount of material during 3 years of travel in Ladakh, a place considered to be an incubator of global issues and problems: from climate change to the loss of cultural identities, from the impacts of mass tourism to ethnic conflicts and political tensions.
We have done our best to tell the eternal and ever current theme of the relationship between man and nature from different perspectives. Secondly because in addition to the editing I am also co-author of the original soundtrack together with Matteo Milani, it is not the first soundtrack that Matteo and I make as a couple, but this time we are so happy with the result that between us he will release an album that will be released in early autumn, just before the official premiere of the film in competition at the "Visioni Dal Mondo" festival, scheduled from 17 to 21 September 2020.

Dopo cinque mesi di lavoro, in buona parte trascorsi durante una pandemia globale, abbiamo finalmente ultimato il montaggio e la post-produzione del nuovo documentario di Nicolò Bongiorno.
Songs Of The Water Spirits ha rappresentato una doppia sfida per me, prima di tutto perchè Nicolò aveva girato un'enorme mole di materiale durante 3 anni di viaggi nella regione del Ladakh, dai quali emerge come il remoto territorio a nord dell'Indiasia un incubatore di temi e problematiche globali: dai cambiamenti climatici alla perdita delle identità culturali,dagli impatti del turismo di massa ai conflitti etnici e alle tensioni politiche.
Ce l'abbiamo messa tutta per raccontare l'eterno e sempre attuale tema del rapporto tra uomo e natura da prospettive diverse.In secondo luogo perchè oltre al montaggio sono anche co-autore della colonna sonora originale insieme a Matteo Milani.Non è la prima soundtrack che io e Matteo realizziamo in coppia, ma stavolta siamo talmente felici del risultato che ne trarremo un album che uscirà in autunno, appena prima della PREMIERE ufficiale del film in concorso al festival "Visioni Dal Mondo", in programma dal 17 al 21 settembre 2020.
